Homework reinforces concepts we are learning during the day. It is your child’s opportunity to show you what they have been learning. My hope is that homework should be easy for your child as we will have covered the concepts in class before it is sent home. From time to time your child maybe be confused about the concepts even if we have covered them. Help them try to do as much of the work as they can. Please write a short note to me if you feel that your child is struggling excessively.
Homework Expectation Reading Your child should be reading a book of their choice every night for 10-15 minutes in the fall, even weekends.
Spelling Spelling will be sent home but not until we have first established our reading routines.
Math
Math homework will be sent home at least two days a week. It may be double sided some evenings. Please be sure your child returns their homework every day.
Incomplete work
Your child may bring home additional work if they do not get class work done in a timely manner. Students are given time to complete class work in school and as long as they are using their time wisely they should be able to complete the work at school, if not, it may be sent home to be completed and returned.
