Welcome to Mrs. Young's Sixth Grade class

               Welcome to Sixth Grade. My name is Mrs. Young.  This is my seventeenth year teaching at Galtier and I'm excited to be here.  This year we are departmentalizing.  I will teach Literacy and Mr. Portesan will teach Mathematics.    
             This year's Sixth Grade class is comprised of twenty-one students who are of various ethnic backgrounds. They come to us from a wide range of communities throughout the metro area. Our students are extremely excited about being in school and strive to make learning their business. Our Sixth Graders demonstrate strength in Inquiry learning and Oral Communications.
            Sixth Graders love to have fun.  They work  hard and and play hard.   Our students  enjoy inquiry learning, discovering things for themselves .  They also enjoy working with the younger students at Galtier.  They demonstrate good citizenship by  always being willing to help all staff and other adults in our buildings.  All Sixth Grader have the potentials to excel, but they must realize that success only comes through dedication, preparation, and hard work.
