Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways to help in your child’s classroom. Here is a list of needs that we welcome parents to help volunteer with as much as they feel they can.
1. Literacy Centers: Sit with small groups. Keep them on task and support learning where needed. Reading w/ small groups and help encourage young children to use reading strategies. Helping clean up & put things away.
10-10:30 ( Ms Kennedy)
10:30-11 ( Ms Lehman)
This is a 1/2 hour or an hour commitment  | | Shared Reading Books |
1-5 times a week.
2. Writers Workshop: Support students writing, encourage use of word wall, sound spelling, adding details and creative writing.
11:20-12:00 (Ms. Lehman)
12:15-12:50 ( Ms Kennedy)
This is a 45 minute commitment 1-5 times a week.
3. Lunch Room support: 12:50-1:20
1/2 hour commitment 1-5 times a week.
4. Recess Support: 1:20-1:40
1/2 hour commitment 1-5 times a week.
5. Free Choice: Encourage play and social skills.
1-5 times a week. 2-2:35
6. Book  | | Writers Workshop |
Organizer: Help organize classroom libraries.
15 minutes 1-2 times a week
7. Lost & Found Organizer: Anytime during the week hang up and organize lost and found items in hall.
15-20 minutes 1-2 times a week.
8. Library: Help reshelf books
We realize many parents work full time, have other commitments and are not able to volunteer. This is an open invitation if you find any time in your schedule. Coming to your child's school sends an important message about the value of education.

Donations: Snack, mittens, hats, uniform items.
Call the office! See if they need help.
Read every night! Turn off the TV or talk about the show you are watching together. No PG13 movies, limit video games, play board games. Join site council, Join PTA, Come on field trips.
You can call or just check into the office. Let the office know you are here to volunteer and we will put you to work/play.
