Galtier Magnet's Kindergarten program will be made up of two full time classes. Classes will runs from 9:10 to 3:40. We have approximately 25 students per class. Two licensed full time teachers and one teaching assistant.
In Kindergarten our day with starts with practicing writing our name and finding our name. Another activity is our Question of the Day? Next we have a daily meetings where we choose our helpers for the day, organize our calendar, check the weather, count how many days we have been in kindergarten and share news. The daily meetings is with woven math and literacy concepts built in to help us become a quick community of social learners. We spend  | | Shared Reading Books |
the rest of our time working on Red Hot Reading, Math, Science, Computer lab, Literacy and Reading. A big hit this year is our literacy stations. There are five stations that we rotate through over the week. Some of the stations include: literature circle, writing center, play dough with letters or making words, sorting stations, art, writing centers listening center, computers, puzzles and much more. Every week we have a shared reading book we focus on. We spend time working on literacy skills and by the second day the students are reading the book. We also have extra copies of our shared reading book of the week. These books are in high demand as a book to choose.
