| | | | | Welcome to Mrs. Kennedy's Classroom | | | | Mrs. Kennedy | Hi! My name is Melissa Kennedy. This is my sixteenth year of
teaching. I have taught twelve years of full day kindergarten and four
years of first grade. I am grateful for having four years of first
grade experience. It has allowed me the opportunity to learn the first grade curriculum and scaffold it into my kindergarten classroom. I feel that I have a stronger kindergarten curriculum because of it. I have a Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood
Development from Conccordia University. Kindergarten is definitely
where my heart is!
I live in Cottage Grove with my husband of four years. We are blessed to have two beautiful boys; Joseph who is 27 months and Jack who is 6 months. We also have a home in a small town of Wisconsin on 40 acres. We love to escape there on the weekends. Our family really loves the oudoors. We have a beautiful river on our property that we love to sit by and swim in.
Now that I am a mother, I have developed that unconditional love and attachment that you only know as a parent. At home and at school, I believe in providing structure, routines, nurturing and quality time with our children. My goal throughout the kindergarten year is to provide your child with a solid base of knowledge to help them become successful in first grade. I promise to work hard and develop positive relationships with both children and parents. My kindergarten door is always open for visitors. Come on in and see what we are doing!
Sincerely, Mrs. Melissa Kennedy
