My name is Greg Childs, I am the science and math specialist at Galtier. I am responsible for coordinating and delivering the science curriculum here at Galtier. I am also responsible for coordinating the math program. The Galtier science program has three main components: the science lab, the classroom and the computer lab.
First, In the science lab, students learn science content and processes through inquiry based, hands-on , activities, explorations and projects.
Second, In the classroom, students participate in Reader's and Writer's workshop activities that reinforce, build on and extend the science lab activities.
Finally, In the computer lab, students create projects that apply and demonstrate their knowledge of the science concepts they have learned.
